DIY does it again
Recently The Weekender revealed that Channel Nine's DIY Rescue program would be lending a hand to Angela and David Gies in renovating their Penrith home.
Earlier this week The Weekender visited the Gies' to find out exactly what they thought of the changes.
"It's amazing," said Angela.
"David and myself worked from seven to seven, about twelve hours a day., over four days with the DIY crew and it was totally worth it in the end."
David said he was ecstatic with the way their new home looked and reiterated the fact that it felt like he had won the lotto.
"It looks incredible, it's like we've won a small fortune," he said.
"We couldn't be happier with the final result."
During the renovations, David helped with the sunroom, kitchen and laundry, while Angela helped with the backyard.
The entire project involved over 50 helpers on site including many Penrith businesses.
One local company involved in the renovation of the Gies' home was Ian Cubitt's Classic Home Improvements.
Ian and his crew spent four days extending the Gies' backroom and transforming it into a sylishly modern sunroom, set to capture those summer rays.
