Time to let the sunshine in
Summer is fast approaching and what better time is there for an indoor-outdoor room?
Now that the sun is shining and outdoor living is an attractive option, the indoor-outdoor and glass-roofed rooms made by Ian Cubitt's Classic Home Improvements are in hot demand.
The massive growth in the home renovation and extension industry is growing by the day, so it is now surprise to learn that waiting lists for renovations are also growing at a rapid pace.
When designing such a room, people wanting to do a renovation should take into consideration priorities such as the ability to control light, heat and ventilation of the extension.
Ian pointed to the range of glazing options available, including high-performance polycarbonates that reduce both direct sunlight and harmful UV rays, as viable options.
He suggested that louvered windows and sliding glass doors also be considered for improved ventilation.
"During the summer many home owners want to create open, light and airy spaces to complement their home life. Glass rooms and conservatories are the perfect solution," Ian said.
He also stressed that attention should be paid to the position of a room and internal features and fittings, such as flooring materials, lighting, the ceiling as well as blinds.
Ian's company, Ian Cubitt's Classic Home Improvements, has been designing and installing glass rooms and conservatories for more than 20 years and has won many HIA Awards for their quality.
